Modeling the Final Meshes

As the breaks winds to a close and the final semester begins, the long and ardous process of modeling all the assets begins. The assets were previously divided among myself and the other two group members--I am to focus mainly on the tree assets while the other forest objects have fallen to my peers.

For the trees, I have already partially delved into Speed Tree, but this time I will focus mainly on using the program to create low poly trees. To do this, I have created separate files known as clusters, which are essentially flat planes with an image of a tree branch and leaves. In the main tree files, I replaced the smaller branches with "fronds," on which I projected the clusters. This helped reduce the overall polycount. I repeated this process of each tree until they were all under 1,000 polys.
